We started Inherent Digital because we kept seeing the same gap. Big network agencies serve big China teams that are already established. Local shops execute on one platform at a time. The companies in the middle — Chinese brands competing globally on quality, Western mid-market firms with serious China operations — were stuck choosing between scale they didn't need and scope they couldn't get. Modern marketing runs across platforms — Google and Baidu, Meta and Douyin, ChatGPT and Doubao. We're a team that moves fluently through all of them. Shanghai is where we work from. Capability is what we're known for.

Christopher Brewer
Founder, Strategy Lead (Shanghai + Washington, DC)
Fifteen years in digital marketing: Ten in the US and five in China. Christopher came to the China market after the era of quick wins had ended, first by building digital programs for multinationals adapting to the changing Chinese digital landscape, and then for Chinese SMEs competing globally on quality and service. He started Inherent Digital to serve the companies caught in between: too sophisticated for a local shop, too underserved by network agencies. He works across paid, organic, GEO/SEO, analytics, and the harder problems: Compliance, analytics, and infrastructure questions that don't make it into pitch decks.
